Check out the latest trailer for ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader’.A new (and likely final) trailer for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader has hit the web. Like the international trailer that came before it, this new trailer focuses much more on the plot of the film, though in a decidedly less entertaining way.
As you’ll recall from the previous trailer, Voyage of the Dawn Treader takes place a short time after the events of the second film, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. In the movie, Lucy and Edmund (along with their annoying cousin Eustace) are transported back to Narnia, where they join with Caspian to track the Lost Lords of Narnia.
As I mentioned in a previous post highlighting three images from Dawn Treader, I’m a big C.S. Lewis fan and I am very much looking forward to this film. That being said, I think this trailer is a definite step down from the international trailer and even the first trailer for the movie. I think it gets bogged down a bit by the voiceover, as well as the extended sections of dialogue. The fact that little of the footage is new also makes the trailer seem a bit redundant.
Of course, my opinion isn’t the only one that matters (not yet anyway), so feel free to check out the trailer yourself below:

To those who’ve read Voyage of the Dawn Treader: Doesn’t it seem a little weird that this trailer starts off at what is essentially the end of the book? When the crew finally arrives at Aslan’s Country (the Narnian equivalent of the Christian Heaven), it is a poignant moment. Giving it away in the trailer like that, even if most audiences don’t know what they’re looking at, seems a bit…off.

SPOILERS ENDED.
While I didn’t overwhelmingly enjoy this trailer, I’m still looking forward to Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I think it’s important to have quality family films out during the holiday season, and the Chronicles of Narnia series has definitely fit the bill so far.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader hits theaters in the U.S. on December 10th, 2010.
